Profiles are the key to the flexibility of Eyeball. They allow documents from different departments to have different fieldsets with access by different users. The documents from different profiles are never mixed together but still remain within Eyeball.

Profiles also facilitate a greater degree of security if a user is not allowed access to a particular profile, it is not possible for them to view documents from that profile. Another user may have access to everything.
